December 2016 Release Notes

The OT&E and Production environments are due to be updated with new features. Please see the list of improvements and added functionality below:

(Please note that there is an expected 120 minute maintenance window for this release)

Update RDDS Consistent Labeling and Display Policy
Affected Users Registrar Whois Administrators
Location Whois Portal > Domain/Registrar/Name Server responses
Details How information is returned via whois and web-based directory services has been updated, as required by the ICANN Registry Registration Data Directory Services Consistent Labeling and Display Policy.

As part of this update, the following changes have been made:
1) When a search result on domain name objects is returned, it will now include the following fields:
  • Registrar Abuse Contact Email
  • Registrar Abuse Contact Phone
Abuse contact details can be updated through the Registrar Web Portal > Registrar > Notification Contacts.

2) Some key names have been updated for the output of domain name, name server and registrar objects. For a full list of the key name changes, please refer to the ICANN Registry Registration Data Directory Services Consistent Labeling and Display Policy, available at this link https://www.icann.org/rdds-labeling-display

3) The following field will be included on domain name object queries and placed before the footer ">>> Last update of Whois database:

Scheduled Maintenance
These updates/changes will take effect during the Scheduled Maintenance as set forth below.

Expected Duration: 120 minutes

Date: Monday, December 12th, 2016
Maintenance Window: 22:00h - 00:00h UTC
Expected Duration: 120 minutes

We anticipate the maintenance to take 120 minutes with intermittent outages of the SRS and web portals during that time. All other registry services will continue to function normally. We aim to finish at the expected time but will notify you if there is any significant delay.

Notification emails will be sent when we start and complete the maintenance on our Production environment. These notifications will be addressed to your Admin and Tech notification contacts created on your Production account.
